Finally, I few days ago I had the chance of staying at Hotel Sofitel La Reserva Cardales, about 70 kilometers from Buenos Aires City.
Through the last years I have worked a lot with the Accor Hotels group. In several occasions I had been invited to visit this beautiful hotel, but for different reasons I could not attend. In fact, while I was doing Check In, I was consulted if I had worked at the company. The answer was no, but I had worked a lot with the different Accor hotels around the world.
With my husband we went by car, it just took us an hour arrived to the hotel, it’s a short trip from home.
When you arrived at the La Reserva Cardales (it’s a Natural Reserve) at the first security checkpoint, you will see two entrances. One for the hotel; other for the private neighborhood, where the owners have access to the hotel’s services.
At the central building of the hotel complex we are welcomed, they took our car to the covered parking lot in the basement of the hotel.
The Check In was very dynamic even being at 3:00pm on a Friday, a time that many passengers arrived to spend the weekend.
My first surprise: an Upgrade. From Superior Room (view Natural Reserve, the most accessible rate) the hotel gave us a Suite Sofitel also views to the Natural Reserve. I understood this Upgrade from my previous work. Very nice courtesy.
The lobby is huge, with a glazed ceiling that allows a lot of light to enter. In addition the glass walls, from where you can see the fountains that surround the hotel, give us a welcome to a true oasis, not far away from Buenos Aires.
With the Upgrade we enjoyed a spacious room with a terrace towards the reserve that gave us lots of green, as well as peace.
These elegant suites have Jacuzzi, Coffee Set Nespresso, LCD 42 “, two telephone lines and Internet Wi-Fi, air conditioning, safe, mini bar.
The King Size Bed, with the My Bed concept they offer, is really comfortable.
The bathroom has natural light through a large window onto the terrace. In the bathroom, white Carrara marble stands out. It’s a relaxing space with Jacuzzi and shower with frosted door.
Every day between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 pm is held the bed-opening service, offering more towels, leaving water bottles and complimentary chocolates.
Services: Spa / Water Circuit
The hotel offers different services to fully enjoy the stay.
An infinite pool towards the artificial lagoon gives us a beautiful view. Also in the lagoon you can practice sports like kayaking
In addition to the main pool, there is a large children’s pool.
Many chairs and the pool bar complete this area.
The hotel’s Spa is included; accessing it’s heated in / out pool, sauna, relaxation area and a full fitness center.
If we want to enjoy the water circuit, it has a charge of $ 1100 pesos, for one hour with relax options as such as the leisure pool, dry sauna, wet sauna, hammam, and shower temple. And as in all hotels, they offer a variety of massages with different prices and duration.
The hotel has three dining options.
The main restaurant, where breakfast is served, is La Butaca. A la carte options for lunch and dinner. Although Saturday evenings and Sunday at noon La Butaca offers an assorted food buffet buffet service with a cost of $ 800 pesos plus drinks per person. View to the lagoon and semi-covered terrace.
The restaurant Le Lac is presented as a fusion of French cuisine with the exquisite flavors of Argentine cuisine. Restaurant overlooking the lagoon. It only opens on Friday and Saturday nights, with a capacity for 40 people and can only be accessed with prior reservation.
And the third option is the piano bar called Bernabé, ideal for drinks, cocktails and simpler meals. It serves pizza, a variety of sandwiches, salads, burgers as well as desserts. Bernabé has a screen and projector. We went on Saturday’s night and were playing music, but on Sunday’s night were showing soccer games.
There is also a fourth gastronomic option within the reserve. Walking about 300 meters separating the hotel from the Club House of private neighborhood Reserve Cardales, hotel guests can visit Italpast, the famous Italian restaurant that has a branch here.
We have lunch every day at La Butaca, usually sandwiches and salads. The first night, we went to Italpast, on Saturday’s night at the piano Bar Bernabé and the last night at La Butaca. The dinner at La Butaca, as being Sunday, the hotel was much quieter and we ate exquisitely in a very relaxed atmosphere.
And obviously the hotel has a 24-hour room service with an extensive menu to choose from.
Corporate and Social Events
The hotel has the recognized Convention Center, the Silo and several rooms inside the central building for all types of events.
And also the hotel offers a Team Building area, an adventure circuit with air and land games, rope and wood bridges, trapezoids in height and zip lines. Those of us who have worked in companies, especially multinationals, we are accustomed to doing recreational activities for the integration of their employees.
The hotel and private neighborhood have an 18-hole golf course.
For the little ones, there is the Kid’s Club with games and activities by qualified staff. Workshops, entertainment, video library and videogames.
For those who want to relax, also the Library with a varied selection of books is a perfect place.
As being a huge reserve, there are several circuits to walk, run or ride a bike. In fact, the hotel offers group departures of up to 10 guests by bicycle along with a hotel guide, who will tell you about the history, fauna and flora of the reserve. An interesting activity of about 40 minutes. Obviously I joined!!! At the hotel we can enjoy of several tennis and soccer fields.
The only thing I didn’t visit was the Bowling and Games Room: there are 3 bowling lanes, pool tables, ping pong and foosball. It’s opening from the evening to night. The hotel is really huge with so many activities that something always will be missed.
The private neighborhood
Finally some words for the private neighborhood. As being guests of the hotel, we can walk around it. There are still some free lots to build houses. It’s forbidden to take pictures in this area for obvious security measures. But, of course, it’s a lovely place, beautiful houses, some of them stunning.
My recommendation is to visit this beautiful hotel, you will not regret it. Ideal for weekend getaway for couple or with children. Many activities, elegant and very comfortable rooms, exquisite food and the pleasant attention of all its staff.
